They’re what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course. Improve your skills and go to new depths so you can explore more of Mackinac Straits!

Nautical North Family Adventures’ PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course gives you the perfect opportunity to gain additional diving experience and confidence. This is a great way to enhance your skills and learn some new ones. After the course you will be certified to dive up to 100 feet/30 meters


  • Certified as an Open Water Diver (PADI or any other recognised organisation)
  • Minimum of 10 years of age for Junior Advanced Open Water Course (70ft max depth)
  • Minimum of 15 Years of age for Advanced Open Water
  • Need to be in good physical and mental health
  • DSMB+Reel, Compass, Dive Light, Dive Knife or line cutter, Slate w/pencil

Course cost $595 per student and includes:

  • PADI E-learning Materials
  • PADI Qualified & Experienced Instructors
  • Use of Rental Scuba Equipment, (where required) including BCD (Buoyancy Control Device), Regulators, Computer, Weights, Cylinders and Air Fills
  • FIVE Open Water Dives (3 shore dives/2 boat dives)
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification—Dive Anywhere in the world up to 100ft/30 meters
  • Double Boat Dive to 100 feet

Optional Extras – Enriched Air Notrox

  • Add on an Enriched Air Diver course to learn how to extent your bottom time and stay down longer
    with a higher oxygen concentration
