Our evening sunset cruise is the perfect way to experience the beauty of the Straits in the fall. We’ll depart the docks and head towards Lake Huron under the State Street Bridge, where we’ll watch the sunset from the water before heading past the Cheboygan lighthouse and observe shipwrecks on our way to port. Directions to local establishments where you can grab a bite to eat or a cocktail will provided when we dock. Feel free to bring refreshments and snacks. Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to departure!
Shipwrecks of Cheboygan Tour *with snorkeling option
This will be a professionally guided tour over the shipwrecks that are safely available for viewing. Lake Huron and Mother Nature collaborate on which wrecks are available to us on tour days. We will leave the dock and put into Duncan Bay or Point Nipigon. Passengers will receive a narrative rich in the history of the shipwrecks, as well as a beautiful view through the glass bottom of our newly crafted boat, Yankee Sunshine. This tour takes approximately one and a half hours. Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to departure!
This tour shall involve a rich historical narrative upon leaving the dock. We will head to the north side of Bois Blanc Island, past the 14ft. Shoal light, and possibly Poe Reef Light (weather and water dependent). On the return trip, we will provide the history of the Cheboygan River lighthouse system, stopping at the Front Range light when it’s open to the public. This tour takes approximately two hours.
For this tour, we will head south down the Cheboygan River, allowing a leisurely ride and a narrative of the history of the river and Cheboygan. We will pass through the locks, learning the history of the lock and dam system. Will continue upriver until Moonlight Bay where we will turn around and return to dock. This tour takes approximately one and a half hours to complete. Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to departure!
